Celebration of Yalda and Christmas /

Canadian Iranian Foundation celebrated Yalda and Christmas on December 17th. 2017 at the West Vancouver Community Centre’s Music Hall. The event was well received by the public and the maximum capacity attended.The event consisted of poetry recital from Hafez poems, music and dance by Amed Dance Academy youth group directed by Pooneh Al and Chichaklar Dance Company, directed by Shalaleh Rismani. Followed by the audience group dance. The purpose of the event was to raise fund for the earthquake survivals in Iran. $10,000 was raised and this amount + 4,000,000 Tomans in Iran would handed over to the MM Foundation in order to rebuilding the survivors houses. A lot of beautiful items were donated by the public for this fundraising which were auctioned of. C.I.F. would like to thank all the donors and sponsors as without their support, we would not have been able to raise this much fund. They are: Amed Dance Academy, Chichaklar Dance Company, DJ UB, Reyhaneh Bakhtiyari and Bijan Sadaghdar for donating beautiful paintings. Tala Florist, C.I.F. can not thank them enough as they have always beautified our events with their lovely flowers. Golestan Bakery for the delicious shirini, and our wonderful audience for bringing seeded pomegranates, Masoumeh Price for donating her valuable books, Arash from Rosewood photography for the lovely pictures, Arash for being Santa, Mr. Zargarzadeh for his generosity in bidding, Parvaz TV, Mehdi Hosseini and the attendees for coming and making the event a success.
